We have a group of knowledgeable staff including registered and licensed dietitians that service our inpatient population. Each patient admitted is pre-screened in our diet office and assessed by the admitting nurse for nutritional risk. If necessary, a full nutritional assessment is completed by the dietitian, who then contributes to the plan of care for the patient by recommending nutritional interventions. As necessary, diet instruction and education is provided to the patient and/or the family. Our dietitians are available for consult by contacting the diet office.
Our diet clerks and hostesses have daily contact with our patients while passing out meal trays and menus. During these interactive times, patients can discuss their preferences and any concerns or questions they may have about their care. If the diet clerk or hostess is unable to assist, the concern or question is forwarded to the appropriate professional.
We have a 7-day menu cycle. Each patient has an opportunity to choose for the next day’s meals. Special requests are honored as they are appropriate to the diet order, and religious and cultural preferences are met to the best of our ability. Our staff of skilled cooks and diet aides prepares and serves patient meals with distinctive flair. All of their efforts goes towards pleasing the customer
